The company was originally founded on the fishing industry, and as the name suggests, it developed its business within accommodation and outfitting and repair of fishing vessels.

Today this segment only constitutes about 50% of the smithy’s business.

The up- and downturns in the fishing industry have required Hvide Sande Skibssmedie to be flexible. This has resulted in the introduction of various niche products, and today the smithy offers a range of additional products – e.g. staircases, railings, balconies etc. for the building industry, plumbing installations in new buildings, all kinds of jobs within hydraulics, etc. Another important niche industry now and in the future is the production of ice plants for the fishing industry in Denmark and abroad.

No project is too small or too big for Hvide Sande Skibssmedie. It is important for us to serve the local community and continue to cut door plates for people’s front doors, also in the future.
